Quotations are hereby requested for the following: Supply and deliver post lamp meter. Specifications: Post 8 meter Lamp Steel Mounting Galv, Qty: 10: 1. Design: - The mechanical strength of the pole shall be designed for a basic wind pressure of 515 Pa - Terrain Category 3 Class B. Wind surface area shall be taken as 0,2 square metres. The pole shall be designed with a safety factor of not less than 2,5, - Each pole shall be fabricated with a steel ground sleeve not less than 600 mm long welded or forged to the pole and having a wall thickness of not less than 6 mm. The steel sleeve shall not form part of calculations for the strength of the pole and shall be fitted to the pole prior to galvanizing, 2. Manufacture and Finish: - The pole shall be fabricated as a single unit/or a stepped tapered tubular unit from steel having a thickness of not less than 4 mm, - No reducers must be used in manufacturing process, only the swaging process. A pole that has socket components is not acceptable. The entire pole shall be hot dip galvanised in accordance with SANS 121 as amended. The galvanised surface may not be damaged or broken before or during delivery and shall be checked after galvanising to ensure that the galvanising material does not block the pole, 3. Bottom Plate: - A 40mm wide flat plate must be installed across the bottom of the pole on the inside, 4. Welding: - All welding must be CO², 5.
