Sub-contractors are required for the following subcontracts: - Optical fibre supply, installation and commissioning. Quotations are hereby invited for the appointment of a service provider for the provision of labour for the laying of water pipeline and ancillary works for Velddrif. Specifications: Preliminary and general: - Allow for preliminary and general requirements, including all health and safety requirements as per Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993. Plant: - Plant supply, including operator, fuel, and other costs. Testing: - Water pressure testing and submission of test schedules. Excavations: - Excavate by hand in all material not exceeding 1 m to expose existing cables, pipelines, etc.; - Excavate by hand in all material not exceeding 1.2 m deep in preparation for the installation of a new 50 mm PVC pipeline; - Excavate by hand in all material not exceeding 1.0 m deep in preparation for the installation of a new 22 mm Polycop pipeline; - Trench filling with in situ material. Pipelines: - Keeping pipelines clean. All pipes laid must be closed by means of an adequately fixed plastic cap or other approved material, supplied by the contractor, in order to prevent the ingress of foreign material; - Lay and seal 50 mm class 9 PVC pipe according to the manufacturer"s specifications; - Lay and seal 22 mm polycop pipe according to the manufacturer"s specification; - Water connection including drilling on 50 mm pipe, installing saddle, municipal ball valve, and all accessories required per connection; - Remove and reconnect existing water meters to the corresponding erf; - Single connection split into two; - Install fire hydrants as directed; - Install valves as directed. Road Crossings: - Layer works; - Selection and breaking down, cutting the existing pavement layers, stockpiling and compacting the gravel in layers; - Existing road layers cut, removed and temporarily placed in windrow; - Construct road crossings from excavated material; - Construct and compact access to houses.
