Quotations are hereby invited for the following: Tools & Machinery: 1 each x Sediment grab sampler. Specifications: The grab sampler should be appropriate for sampling sand, silt or non-cohesive material with a maximum sample depth of >10 m. It should consist of hinged scissor jaws that close as the sampler is lifted after sampling and ave approximate dimensions of 152 x 152 x 152 millimetres and sample capacity of 3.5 litres. The device should be light weight that enables fast deployment and which will reduced sediment loss during sampling. The device should be composed of strong stainless steel, (approximate weight 5.9 - 7 kg) and have spring loaded closing mechanisms. The closing mechanism should be triggered by a messenger that travels down an attached rope. The grab sampler/device should therefore include a grab messenger, a grab cable kit (30 m), a handle (5ft) and a nylon rope (100 ft) and a carry case. Delivery Date: 2023/11/30. Dikgatlong Municipality hereby invites suitably prospective service providers to quote to supply, deliver and install mechanical water level indicators. Background and specifications/ scope of work: It is currently difficult for the water team to manage and monitor the water levels in our reservoirs because there are no water level indicators at any of our water storage facilities. The Water Section therefore requires that water level indicators be installed at the following sites: 1. Barkly West Water Storage Facility: - 2 concrete ground level reservoirs; - 2 elevated steel tank reservoirs, 2. Windsorton Water Treatment Works: - 3 concrete ground level reservoirs, 3. Delportshoop: - 2 concrete ground level reservoirs; - 1 elevated steel tank reservoir, 4. Longlands: - 1 elevated steel tank reservoir. We therefore require that a suitably qualified service provider to supply, deliver and install mechanical water level indicators. The specifications are as follows: 1. The construction must be of a rugged nature (Tough, reliable and almost maintenance free). 2. Preferred construction must include the “pulley” system in a stainless-steel housing, stainless-steel guide-bar, high-grade polyamide pulleys, durable cord and float. 3. The pulley system must consist of two cords connecting to the float, a counterweight and a water level marker. As the float rises or drops on the tanks’ changing water levels, the counterweight movement causes the water level marker to move in perfect unison with the movement of the float. The position of the water-level marker thus always provides a true reading of the water level in the tank. 4. The Bidder/Supplier must also provide a guarantee for all parts for at least 3 years. Level indicators must have a water level marker which show different water levels at intervals as follows: - Empty, - 1/8, - ¼, - ½, - ¾, - Full. 5. Training to be provided to operators on site on how to operate and maintain the water level indicators. 6. Delivery and installation addresses will be at the different sites as indicated. 7.
