Service and Maintenance: • Inspection - Regular inspections on all components of the hydraulic system, including cylinders, valves, hoses, and pumps. Look for signs of wear and Tear, leaks, or damage; • Fluid Checks - Monitor hydraulic fluid levels and quality. Top up or replace fluid as needed; • Filter Replacement - Change hydraulic fluid filters to maintain optimal performance; • Seals Inspection - Inspect seals and gaskets for wear and leaks; • Lubrication - Lubricate moving parts to prevent friction and ensure smooth operation; 2. Breakdown and Repairs: • Troubleshooting - Diagnose the issue by checking for error codes, abnormal noises, or unexpected behaviour; • Leak Detection - Identify and fix any hydraulic fluid leaks promptly; • Component Replacement - Replace faulty components such as valves, seals or hoses; • Emergency Repairs - Address urgent issues to minimize downtime of operations; 3. Load Testing to ensure that the crane system can handle its rated load safely: • Load the crane with weights equivalent to its maximum rated load; • Run the crane through its full range of motion (up and down) while monitoring performance; • Check for any abnormal behaviour, noise, or stress on components; • Frequency: Load tests should be conducted annually or as specified by regulations; • Qualified Inspectors (LMI): Only qualified inspectors should perform load test; • Documentation: Share and Maintain records of load test results for compliance and safety purposes. Logistics Services have depots at the following areas: • Johannesburg Rosherville Depot; • Polokwane Depot; • Durban Depot; • Middelburg (Duvha Power Station); • Medupi; • Majority of vehicles are operating in Johannesburg, hence the supplier must have atleast 2 premises that are not more than 40km far from the Johannesburg Depot.
