Proposals are hereby invited for the appointment of a service provider for the supply of private security intervention unit for physical security, armed response unit including ad-hoc services such as evictions, relocations and cleanup operations on the Western Cape’s central line to Cape Town Station. The main objective of the Central Line Security project is to appoint a service provider with the requisite experience, capacity and capability to provide an integrated security service rendering that provides the following services: • Reduce and combat criminality; • Armed Physical Security Deployment; • Creating an enabling environment for project implementation; • Protection of mission critical assets within the operational tunnel; • Provision of a minimum of three armored vehicles with Armed Security; • Ensuring a safe and secure operational environment for service resumption; • Ad-hoc services that addresses the following: (i) Remove illegal occupants from the PRASA servitude in line with the Prevention of Illegal Eviction from and Unlawful Occupation of Land Act, Act 19 of 1998 (PIE); (ii) Relocation of the illegal occupants; (iii) Clean-up operations of the servitude; • Prevent reoccupation of the rail servitude by illegal occupants.
