Quotations are hereby invited for the following: Replacement of sewer pipeline in Moshoeshoe Street. Specifications: The municipality will provide the service provider with the following: • pipe materials, • manholes rings and manhole cover slabs, • backfill materials, • One (1) TLB and a tipper truck machinery. Scope: • The service provider must mark the identified area of work (sewer pipe line); • The work must be completed within 6 weeks from the appointment; • Identify all possible services within the identified site and mark them; • Isolate the area systematically or in sections by plugging off all the upstream flow while working; • Excavate an average of 2.6 meters deep and 0.7 meters wide Trench to excavate and take the old sewer pipe using a TLB or an excavator (the machinery will be provided by the client); • Trim and compact the trench bed to 98 MOD ASSHTO; • A 200 mm thick bedding red soil to be compacted 90% MOD ASSHTO; • Place, align and seal a 250 mm diameter UPVC pipe. Pipe to be supplied by the client; • Perform mirror testing and air testing on the pipe; • Position all manholes at the existing manhole positions; • Seal all the manhole rings to the required SANS standard; • Place blanket material around the pipe and compact to 90% MOD ASSHTO; • Backfill the trench and compact to the required minimum standard; • Re-instate the site and clean the site.
