The PIC seeks to solicit proposals and appoint a suitably qualified Service Provider(s) with a proven track record of successfully designing, implementing and providing comprehensive support for a listed Investment Management solution (software as a service). Bid proposals are hereby invited from suitably qualified and accredited service providers who are interested to submit their proposals to tender for the following: Bhukuveni to Ntshikitshane access road concrete slab in ward 08 for Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality. Objectives: The primary objective of this project is to provide ease of access for the communities to clinics, police station and schools. The construction of this slab will improve the travel conditions for Ntshikitshane Village and those travelling to Bhukuveni. The motorist visiting the villages are having difficulty to access the house holds during rainy season. The secondary objective of the project is to construct this concrete slab to make it safe for use and improve the road’s storm water management, while creating temporal employment to local labour. It will develop and improve practical and management skills for emerging contractors by implementation of Labour-Intensive Construction (LIC) methods, wherever practical. Scope of works: - Recruitment of Community Liaison Officers (CLOs); - Establishment and or utilization of formal existing local structures; - Site establishment; - Clearing and grubbing; - Wet blading of existing gravel road; - Regravelling; - Construction of 500m concrete slab; - Stone pitched side drains; - 600mm diameter underground storm water pipes with associated headwalls, and - Road signage as required; - Provision of stone pitching from the cutting to convey surface run-off water to the discharge point; - Erection of road signs to minimize accidents; - Finish off the road and the road reserve; - Provision for testing workmanship and material; - Cleaning and deposing of waste created during construction on completion; - De-establishment. Location of works The Bhukuveni to Ntshikitshane access road concrete slab project is located in Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape Province. It is 6km away from eMagusheni Junction, going towards Flagstaff turn left next to Dudumeni Junior Secondary School. The proposed 4km long gravel road will serve the surrounding communities and will provide ease of access for residents and all prospective users. A number of temporary work opportunities will be generated during the construction stage of the project and skills will be transferred to the local communities.
